Dr.  Jonas Torrens
Postdoctoral researcher, Copernicus Institute for Sustainable Development, Utrecht University
Research Associate at the Science Policy Research Unit, Sussex University

Project: "Ecologies of experimentation – shifting the processes of infrastructuring?"

Dr. Jonas Torrens’s research has centred on two topics: urban experimentation in the context of sustainability transitions, and policy experimentation in the context of 'transformative innovation policy'. His research aims to bridge the gap between notions of experimentation and systemic change in cities, drawing from innovation studies and geography. He is a member of the Sustainability Transitions Research Network (STRN) steering group and a convener of its newly-established thematic group on urban transitions and transformations. Jonas is originally from Curitiba, Brazil; he has lived and worked in Lyon, Paris, Nantes, Madrid, Stockholm, Brighton, and Utrecht, from which he derives his passion for cities.
