July 22, 2019 by School of Cities Staff

School of Cities associate director of partnerships & outreach, Shauna Brail, an associate professor and director of the urban studies program, appeared on CTV News Toronto regarding the city's latest car-sharing venture.

"Owning a vehicle is the second most expensive household expense for a family at close to $10,000 per year,” said Brail.

Brail's research examines the disruptions taking place in urban mobility, particularly focused on the emergence and shifting strategies of ride-hailing firms and associated impacts on cities.

"In the automotive sector, they’re talking about three things — a move to autonomous, electric and shared."
