June 16, 2020 by School of Cities Staff

Co-sponsored by the School of Cities and the University of Toronto Transportation Research Institute (UTTRI), Pantonium Inc. held a discursive webinar on the topic "The Social Benefits of On-demand Transit". The panelists included Prof. Shauna Brail, Associate Director Partnerships and Outreach, School of Cities, U of T, faculty affiliate Prof. Steven Farber, Department of Human Geography, UTSC, and Luke Mellor, Marketing Director, Pantonium Inc. The webinar provided the platform for  panelists to have an in-depth discussion around the findings of a survey conducted by a research team at the University of Toronto in the City of Belleville, a year after they launched on-demand transit in September of 2018. The survey was intended to explore the various social benefits that come from public's access to on-demand transit.
