Coronavirus and the City: One Question is an initiative of the University of Toronto’s School of Cities
We are launching this series with the understanding that COVID-19 presents cities with a host of serious challenges, while at the same time raising critical questions about our urban future. Although COVID-19 is primarily a public health challenge, no element of urban life appears untouched by the pandemic. This series presents a way for the School of Cities to collaborate on the city’s eventual recovery.
Each week, we will ask urban leaders representing academia, government, industry, community, and civil society to respond to one key question designed to draw out multiple perspectives. And as cities embark on the return to some version of normal, we will leverage the series to learn about building resiliency. Through this initiative, we will investigate ways for cities to not only protect citizens’ health, but also maintain economic vitality and social vibrancy.
We hope you’ll join us as we continue to learn from, and about, our cities.
