Global Urban Network Seminar Series 2021


The Global Urban Network Seminar series brings global academic audiences together to discuss substantive topics facing cities from multiple geographies and perspectives. Speakers are from participating institutes in the Global Urban Network highlighting topics of research that are of primary focus to their respective institutes and/or recognized experts in the field. The series will introduce research and create a forum for discussion amongst participants. 


Session 1: March 1    |  Urban Equitable Resilience: Power Structures, Spatial Justice, and Climate Action

Session 2: March 22  |  Building Sustainable Cities at the Neighbourhood Scale 

Session 3: April 26     |  Pandemic Responses and Beyond 

Session 4: May 17     |  The Resilience and Sustainability of Global Systems of Cities: an Urban Science Perspective 

Session 5: June 14     |  Governing Complex Urban Regions in the 21st Century



Each seminar will be 60 minutes and feature brief presentations from each speaker followed by questions and discussion amongst the participants. Speakers will present analysis and highlights of compelling research either underway or recently completed as it relates to the topic.
